Fun at Fa-Ho-Lo

We are having a great time this week at family camp in Grass Lake, MI.  Rick and the team are doing a great job leading worship during the services.  Last night everyone was really worshipping.  It was really cool.  Tim Enloe has been bringing a great word every night.  Many have been touched, refreshed, and filled with the Spirit, including myself.  I spent yesterday on this thing in the lake that rocks back and forth.  I was on it with the boys falling off, climbing on, falling off, climbing on.  This morning I can hardly feel my hand my arms are so sore!  We are having a blast.

Family Camp, and my brother Steve

We had a great service at family camp. What a great week last week at BCC. I am very proud of Pastor Rick and our team. Worship was amazing.  I am at the U of M as I write this.  I have just prayed for my borther Steve before his surgery.  Continue to pray and believe God with me and his family, that this will  be the last.  He had been so faithful to the Lord and his family.

I will head back out to camp for the service tonight, and to spend time with my family.  God is good.

Monday, Pastor's Sabbath

100_1615100_1617  Monday I took the day off.  It is usually the day off that pastors take.  I had not been taking it off very much but I was challenged and convicted a few weeks ago. So yesterday I slept in.  Read some devo's worked on a little minibike for the boys and took them fishing (I caught 4).  I played some PS2, and whiffle ball. It was a fun day.  As the day drew to a close we headed for home only to get nabbed on M34 by a State Trooper who ruined my relaxing Sabbath by issuing me a stinking ticket for 13 mph over.  My peaceful day turned stressful and frustrating.  I wasn't even trying to speed.  I just was talking and then...boom...there he was. He didn't even give me a break.  Man, I had a great day off.  Guess I had better slow down and pay attention.  Sounds like some life wisdom.  Slow down and pay attention!Cop car

I had a great Father's Day

Summer 06 004 BCC Gatherings were incredible!  Bryan  Nowak did an amazing job. There was a special presence of God moving through hearts and lives.  The Holy Spirit was freely touching many people deeply.  I could tell in my spirit.  It was really incredible!  We had a great meal as a family.  I love my family so much.  Being a dad is awesome.  My kids got me some great gifts for Father's day.  We jumped in the car and went to Morenci to see my dad and had cake and ice cream at my mom's.  We took the dog skamper to the kennel so he can get a good summer cut and then to Hudson to Wendy's parents.  It has been a great day.  We enjoyed our famlies, some great food, wiffle ball and laughs. Time for bed.

Tuesday, the Week, and true revival

Sunday we had a couple of awesome gatherings.  many were touched and in the second gathering a couple of people were saved. God is dealing with our church.  I took the whole day off yesterday (see post about Gus Flaherty). I started the day with some Racquetball at 6 am., Wendy and I went shopping, had lunch, I opened the pool, did some yard work, went to Scoops.  Tuesday morning went to men's prayer, and to HEH to Study.  I will check on my parents in Morenci and make my way back to Toledo to do some hospital visits.  Tomorrow is staff meeting, some afternoon appointments and then our Wednesday night gathering. Thursday i will go to Northville for Credential reviews with pastors, Friday/Saturday I will teach evangelism at the Michigan School of Ministry, then home for Sunday.  Monday and Tuesday I will be gone to our district (state) offices for interviews for new credential candidates and then a presbyter's meeting on Tuesday. Both days will be all day.  Pray for me as all-day meetings get me a little ancy, as I feel a little "cooped up"

Anyhow, this morning I watched a message by Pastor Jim Cymbala.  It was from 2001 and it was so moving.  It took me to tears, prayer, and seeking the Lord.  I will show it on Wednesday. My illusion to "real" revival was not to be unkind, or to take jabs, but to sober up on what we think revival is.  It is not a crowd, or healings, or the blessed being blessed once again, but a move of the Holy Spirit upon the church to move the church to do what Christ intended the church to do..reach lost people that matter to God.  This is what that DVD reminded me of.  I thought the same thing when I was at the Brooklyn Tab.  My heart is hungry for real revival. Not centered on a man, on an experience, or on manifestations, but centered on Jesus Christ and his desire to see lost people saved.  Anyhow, that is my thoughts today.
